PESHAWAR, April 17: The Cadet College, Kohat, was a premier educational institution that contributed a lot in the formation of lives of a large number of young boys, who were now among the top-ranking educationists of the country, said NWFP Senior Minister Rahimdad Khan.<\/p>\n

He was addressing the launching ceremony of Kohatians Foundation at Peshawar Garrisons Club here on Saturday as a chief guest, said a handout. NWFP Minister for Finance Engineer Mohammad Humayun Khan presided over the function.<\/p>\n

NWFP Minister for Technical Education Mahmood Zeb Khan, Cadet College Kohat Principal Brigadier Inamul Haq, Finance Secretary Sahibzada Saeed Ahmad and a large number of old students of the college from all over the province attended the ceremony.<\/p>\n

The senior minister said that Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti was scheduled to attend the ceremony but couldn\u2019t do so owing to his another engagement.<\/p>\n

He commended the efforts of the founding principal of CCK, Faizullah Khan Khattak, who made the college a model for other institutions. \u201cI am very much pleased to know that a number of fine officers in the government had studied in CCK,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The minister lauded the formation of Kohatians Foundation and termed it a noble effort in reaching out to other people, who held high values and were working for the improvement of the society.<\/p>\n

Mr Khan expressed the hope that the members of KF would be a role model for the young students in facing the global challenges.<\/p>\n

On behalf of the chief minister, he announced a donation of Rs5 million for Kohatians Foundation. Speaking on the occasion, Humayun Khan recalled his days in CCK. He regretted that their schools lacked role models. He said that CCK students were sincere enough and didn\u2019t forget their alma mater. He called for going to the communities and assisting them in fight against poverty and deprivation. \u2014Bureau Report<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
