Free Medical Camp for population affected by floods in Ahmadpur Sharqia (East)
Dr. Adnan Mustafa, a doctor belonging to Ahmedpur Sharqia and a Kohatian contacted Kohatians Foundation and asked for KF support for the population affected in recent floods in his hometown, Ahmadpur East. Dr Adnan informed KF that population of his hometown and nearby villages have been badly affected by recent floods in river Sutlaj. People are homeless and spending days and nights under open sky. He also reported that little government has reached this area.
Keeping all the circumstances in mind, as well as his expertise, Dr Adnan offered to free medical camps to help the poor population by providing them with urgently needed Medical facilities. Dr Adnan and his family have been providing free food and shelter to affected population of this area since the floods first hit.
After a series of discussions and review of Dr Adnan’s plan, KF agreed to provide assistance in these efforts.
The plan is to have 3 day Medical camp with provision of free medicines and some basic laboratory diagnostics tests. Medical camp will be held under temporary arrangements, as most of built structures are still under water for which tents will be installed with separate enclosures for male and female patients. Separate counters will be established to process men and women patients. Women doctors have been requested to participate in the medical camp for women patients.
Anticipating that there may be patients requiring observation for a few hours or administration of intravenous medicines and fluids, separate 4 bedded detention wards for Males and Females will also be arranged.
A team of 3 doctors on each day with support from Paramedics will be there to help.
Medicine will be purchased by Dr Adnan from Lahore. List of medicines was reviewed by members of KF who are senior doctors and suggestions made for addition of medicines. as it will facilitate to counter the cost.
Meal during lunch time will also be arranged. All patient visits will be recorded and shared with KF.
The Medical Camp is planned for September 15th to 17th 2025.
