Rules and Regulations of Kohatians Foundation
In accordance with Section 2 of the Societies Registration Act of 1860, the following rules are established for the management and administration of the Kohatians Foundation.
Introduction
These rules are referred to as the Kohatians Welfare Foundation Rules and come into force with immediate effect.
Definitions
- Kohatian: A person who was admitted as a cadet to Cadet College Kohat and remained enrolled for any length of time.
- Board: The Management Board of the Society constituted under these rules.
- President: The President of the Society.
- Dependent: Includes wife, widow(s) (who do not remarry), dependent parents, sons, and unmarried daughters of a Kohatian.
- Society: Kohatians Welfare Foundation.
- Beneficiary: A Kohatian.
- General Body: General body meeting of the members.
- Member: A person whose name is entered in the register of members.
- Kohatians’ Association: Registered Alumni Association of Cadet College Kohat.
Eligibility for Membership
Full Membership:
- Open to Kohatians who:
- Are of sound mind and good moral character.
- Undertake to abide by the Society’s constitution.
- Are not involved in activities against the Society’s objectives.
- Agree to pay the prescribed fees.
Associate Membership:
- Available to individuals who share the Society’s aims but lack the qualifications for full membership.
- Associate members:
- Do not have voting rights.
- Cannot hold office at the regional or headquarters level.
- May participate in the Society’s activities.
Subscription Fees
- Membership Fee: Rs. 5,000 (one-time enrollment).
- Annual Subscription: Rs. 1,000.
- Life Membership Fee: Rs. 25,000.
Benefits for Members:
- Access to publications and facilities of the Society.
- Right to contact officers and attend Society events (subject to applicable fees).
Obligations of Members:
- Actively support and promote the Society’s objectives.
- Assist in Society management and respond to inquiries promptly.
- Uphold the Society’s dignity and abide by its rules.
Management of the Society
Management Board Composition:
- President
- Vice President
- General Secretary
- Joint Secretary
- Finance Secretary
- Ex-Officio Members:
- Principal, Cadet College Kohat
- President, Kohatians Association
- General Secretary, Kohatians Association
The General Body may create or modify posts as deemed fit.
Powers and Functions of the Board
- Appoint office bearers, including President, Vice President, and Secretaries.
- Manage Society affairs, prepare annual reports, and appoint staff.
- Create rules for efficient operations and authorize agreements/contracts on behalf of the Society.
- Recommend removal of office bearers via a General Body resolution.
Dissolution of the Board
- A General Body meeting, called by 10% of members, can dissolve the Management Board through a two-thirds majority vote.
Termination of Office Bearers
- Office bearers may be suspended for irregularities following an inquiry.
- The General Body will decide on reinstatement or termination based on the inquiry report.
Meetings of the Board
- Held quarterly or as requisitioned by one-third of the members.
- Decisions made by majority vote, with the President having a casting vote in case of a tie.
Elections of the Management Board
- Office bearers elected by a majority vote in a General Body meeting.
- Elections may be conducted online using secure electronic voting systems.
- Term: Three years.
General Body
- Consists of voting members in good standing.
- Annual meetings to be held as per Management Board’s schedule.
