President KF Message about Kaifi Sb Marhoom (Teacher CCK):

leftquote Kaifi sahib was a man of modest means and made his living by teaching all his life. But let me share with you all that he was a man with the largest heart I have ever come across. In his will left a sum of over 5 million to the Foundation. This is an indication of the large-heartedness of the man we knew as Kaifi sahib. For me this is very humbling because it shows his confidence in the foundation and in his students.  rightquote

Help for flood affected in Sindh - 2011

Help for flood affected in Sindh
Cash assistance to 100 families in Tandoallahyar
“It is amazing that people from Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa, though away from the troubled area, feel intimately the pain and suffering of affected communities”. A community leader at the cash assistance distribution by Kohatians Foundation
Kohatians Foundation distributed cash assistance to 100 families affected by floods in the village Bukeera Sharif in district Tando Allahyar of Sindh. A total of Rs 500,000 was distributed in the selected families of the village, each family receiving Rs 5000. Priority was given to women, disabled and disadvantaged of the village.
On behalf of the Kohatians Foundation, the activity was personally supervised by Dr Ahsaan Khan a senior staff member of Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan, based in Karachi. Dr Ahsaan belongs to Waziristan and has lived most of his life in Karachi. The distribution of cash assistance was conducted in the presence the community leaders, opinion makers and local Sindhi media.
Flood affected in Sindh- Current Situation
In 2011 unlike the previous year heavy rains inundated the area of Sindh that is rich in high valued crops and fruits. Most of the cotton belt of the area was destroyed. The water still stands in the field and water logging is adding to the problems. The floods have taken a heavy toll in Sindh due to losses of crops, affecting the economic activities, livestock, shelter and increasing health issues. During the visit by the team on October 15 and 16 it was observed that a large swathe of land was still under water. The water logging in the area is adding to the problems. Access to the peripheral far-end villages is still restricted. The roads connecting the worst affected villages are washed away and inundated. The situation is even further complicated in areas where the local administration with their field functionaries/ workers are part of the affected population or communities hence their contribution for recovery and rehabilitation is compromised.
Cash Assistance Distribution
Reports Dr Ahsaan Khan - "It took us a three hours of travel through Hyderabad and Tandoallahyar by road from Karachi to reach the village Bukeera Sharif. The 100 families selected for the cash assistance of PKR 5000 for each family were organized by the local friends and associates. The community leaders were encouraged and engaged for the activity.
While the needs of the area were high, KF tried to target the worst affected and least assisted amongst the population of the village.
Moreover despite the cultural sensitivities women were directly given the cash assistance. Senior citizens and those physically challenged were given priority.
The activity was conducted in the presence the community leaders, opinion makers and local Sindhi media. Many of the participants enquired about the Kohatian Foundation as they were amazed by the fact that people from Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa, though away from the troubled area, feel intimately the pain and suffering of affected communities. The cash mode of assistance provided to the communities was also praised because it was given to the affected people with no regard to their political or religious affiliations and the whole exercise was conducted with fair degree of transparency."
Kohatians Foundation expresses gratitude to Dr Ahsaan and his friends for their voluntary support in this endeavor.
